Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Team has announced Kyle Peters will join its four-rider 250 line-up for the 2018 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, where he’ll contest the 250SX division.

Peters, who challenged in the Motul MX Nationals this year in Australia with the Wilson Coolair Motul Factory Suzuki outfit, has previously been a member of the JGR-operated squad, taking on a fill-in ride during the 2017 250SX East championship.

“I have always wanted to ride for a factory team, and I’m so thankful to get the opportunity with the Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing Team,” said Peters. “What makes it more special is that JGRMX is based in my home state of North Carolina.

“I was fortunate enough to ride for the team during several rounds of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross 250 Eastern regional series. The crew members and I immediately hit it off. In the past few months I have been wearing out [team manager] Jeremy Albrecht’s cell phone, calling to see if he had a slot open. I am beyond excited that things worked out. I can’t wait to put in the effort and make 2018 the best year of my career yet.”

The American will be joined by Jimmy Decotis and defending 250SX West champion Justin Hill, while one spot still remains to be announced. The outfit will also field two 450 riders Justin Bogle and Weston Peick, who were announced last month. Which coast each 250 rider will ride is yet to be determined.
