Multi-time Australian champion Dan Reardon firmly agrees there’s more to come from him in the following rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship after enduring a challenging night at Bacchus Marsh on Saturday.

Reardon, who made three uncharacteristic crashes throughout the event, said he struggled setting up his Mega Fuels Monster Energy Kawasaki KX450F to adapt with the harsh and hard-packed conditions, resulting in a fifth place finish in the main event.

“Yeah for sure, the weekend definitely didn’t go to plan,” Reardon told MotoOnline.com.au. “I was struggling with setup the entire day, and it makes it hard when these tracks are so hard-packed – you’ve got set your bike for the worst possible conditions. I just felt like I was chasing my tail a bit on the weekend.

“It sucks and it wasn’t great, but it doesn’t really affect what I feel about the rest of the season or series or anything like that. It just means we have to do more testing on conditions like the weekend. If I’m comfortable, I ride fast – I’ve been a little uncomfortable.

“The team works well and I work well with them. I don’t believe there’s nothing on my end that needs to change, on the weekend I was just uncomfortable and I felt like I couldn’t ride fast enough – that was pretty much it, I was at my limit. I hit the ground three times over the weekend, it was just one of those days.”

The popular Queenslander’s third place result at Jimboomba paired with his recent fifth sees him sit fourth in the championship standings, level on points with Crankt Protein Honda Racing’s Todd Waters for third. The next stop on the calendar his scheduled for 28 October, at Virginia in South Australia.
