Three different incidents in the first moto of Saturday night’s Monster Energy Cup in Las Vegas saw a number of challengers crash out of the event, which was eventually wrapped up Marvin Musquin (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), who claimed the Monster Million after winning all three finals.

Autotrader Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Justin Bogle was the first to crash out on debut with his new team, the likeable premier class rider came into contact with Justin Hoeft (Yamaha) through a rhythm section, resulting in a concussion that saw him knocked out for roughly 20 seconds.

The incident caused officials to red-flag the race, which was ultimately restarted. Defending champion Eli Tomac (Monster Energy Kawasaki) came unstuck while challenging for the lead during the restart, sliding out of a corner before high-siding and slamming into the ground. He remounted immediately, although wouldn’t return for races two and three.

The final victim of race one was visiting Slovenian and 2016 MXGP champion Tim Gajser (Honda HRC), who took a hard hit in the same section as Bogle. He was down for almost a lap before being assisted off the circuit by the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Crew.

Christain Craig, who was filling in for Cole Seely at Honda HRC, also crashed out of the event, alongside a number of other riders who experienced difficulties.
