Gates set to drop on Horsham's 2017 AJMX championship

KTM-supported event to commence this Sunday in Victoria.

The 2017 KTM Australian Junior Motocross Championship (AJMX), the pinnacle of junior motocross competition in Australia, is set to take place at Horsham in Victoria from 30 September to 6 October where Australia’s future stars will put on an exciting on-track display.

The week-long event will see international hopefuls, defending champions and a vast array of talent test their skills on the big stage. The AJMX is one of the largest motorcycle events by numbers and fosters future talent of tomorrow. Showcasing the health of junior racing in Australia, the AJMX event will see up to 400 competitors and 500 bikes hit the circuit.

In an exciting development, the 2017 AJMX event is set to encourage international participation with up to 30 internationals competing at the event – international nations will include New Zealand, New Caledonia, Indonesia and Thailand.

One of the highlights of the weekend will be the FIM Oceania Junior MX Challenge. The challenge will be the battle ground for Australia and New Zealand’s best up and coming talent.

The two nations have enjoyed a healthy and long-lasting rivalry over the years and it’s about to go to a whole new level with the FIM Oceania Junior Motocross Challenge. Racing for Team Australia is a fantastic opportunity for juniors to represent their country.

Another highlight of the week will be the Interstate Challenge that will pit Australia’s best and up-and-coming junior talents against each other. Australia’s State Controlling Bodies (SCB) have selected their teams and will be eager to gain the win with Queensland returning as defending champions this year.

The Horsham Motorcycle Track has also seen improvements to the facilities including; 30 wash bays, top-notch safety fencing and a state of the art in-field spectator area. Attendees will clearly see all the action on the track.
