Multi-time enduro world champion Matthew Phillips is pleased with Team Australia’s result of second in the World Trophy division at the 2017 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) last week.

The CH Sherco Racing rider assisted Daniel Sanders (Red Bull KTM Factory Racing), Daniel Milner (KTM Enduro Racing Team) and Josh Green (Yamalube Active8 Yamaha) to the runner-up position, completing the week-long event in 19th Outright and fifth in the E3 class.

The Tasmanian, who announced he’d exit the prestigious EnduroGP championship at the conclusion of 2017, mentioned he’s looking forward to returning home after racing alongside his fellow Australians.

“It was a good day and I got off to a great start,” said Phillips. “I dropped back to fifth by the end but I really enjoyed myself. It’s great to now reflect on the ISDE as a whole and thank all our supporters and fans.

“Second place for the team is a great result – everyone really dug in despite a few setbacks at times. We really appreciate all the assistance from the volunteers and team members. I’m really looking forward to coming home next year and it’s great to compete with the Aussies once again. Let’s see what next year brings.”

Phillips will now return to the EnduroGP Championship, where he currently sits third in the premier class.
