Team Australia currently sits third in the World Trophy standings following day one of the 2017 FIM International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) in Brive, France.

It was the home team of France who controlled opening day of racing, beating home strong contenders Finland for the top spot, as defending champions Team USA experienced bad luck with Thad Duvall (Husqvarna) crashing out with an injured wrist, ultimately seeing them positioned 16th.

Multi-time world champion Matthew Phillips (CH Racing Sherco) led the Aussie team, finishing the day fourth in the E3 division, as Daniel Milner (KTM Enduro Racing Team) placed a highly-impressive second in E2.

Red Bull KTM Factory Racing’s Daniel Sanders was sixth in E3, as the final member of the senior team Josh Green (Yamalube Active8 Yamaha) was placed ninth in E1.

In was challenging day for the Australian Junior Trophy squad finishing in 16th after Michael Driscoll (Yamaha) and Wil Ruprecht (Yamalube Active8 Yamaha) both experienced issues to record non-finishes.

Lyndon Snodgrass (KTM Enduro Racing Team) successfully crossed the line 12th in the E3 class, as the Junior division was topped by Sweden, Italy and France.

Australian Women’s team made a strong start in its endeavours to claim a fifth-straight ISDE title, concluding day one in second position. Tayla Jones (Yamaha) was fastest out of the trio, finishing ahead of Jessica Gardiner (Yamaha) and Jemma Wilson (Yamaha).

Spain leads the category, with Team USA positioned in third behind the Aussie squad. Teams will recommence racing tomorrow for the second day of proceedings.
