Youthful Australian talent Jed Beaton will return to the European Motocross Championship this weekend after contesting the last two rounds of the MX2 World Championship with HRC MX2.

Beaton’s regular role is with the Carglass Honda outfit in the EMX250 category, however he was granted a three-round guest opportunity in the world championship in place of injured athlete Chihiro Notsuka, with his third and final ride scheduled for Assen.

The Tasmanian-native finished 12th overall at the Czech grand prix with a top 10 finish in race two, while he struggled with mistakes last weekend in Belgium, completing the grand prix 30th overall.

Beaton sits 17th in the EMX250 championship standings after missing the previous two rounds with a broken collarbone, with this week’s penultimate round in Switzerland set be run alongside the 15th stop of the MXGP World Championship.

Honda has revealed Japanese IA2 points leader Taiki Koga fulfil the vacant opening at the Swiss grand prix in what will be a two-round opportunity, marking his debut in the world championship.
