Dual holeshots for DPH duo

DPH Motorsport press release:

Port Macquarie presented the MX Nationals field one of the most desirable circuits of the year, with more than one ex-racer wishing they could’ve ridden the well prepared race track, which, rather than deteriorate over the day, simply developed more lines for those willing to think outside the box.

Wilson Todd opened the account for DPH Motorsport with a holeshot in the first race, and finished the day with a 2-2 result for 2nd overall, extending his overall MX2 Championship lead.

Kade Mosig followed suit, taking the holeshot in his first race, but was caught up in a first turn crash in race 2, finishing the weekend 2-10 for 6th overall and retaining his 3rd place in the MX1 Championship.

MX1 contender, Kade Mosig after race 2: “Race one went to plan, I got the start I needed and maintained my position for the entire moto, but the second race was a bit of a disaster when I took a hit in the first corner, dropping me to last.

I got back to 10th by the end of the race, but if I’m honest, I didn’t find the rhythm I had in the first race and I wasn’t moving through the field as fast as I could have” Mosig said.

Wilson Todd, currently leading the MX2 Championship had this to say: “Kade and I seem to constantly have similar results this year, so it was great to be able to both take the holeshot in the first race” Wilson said “It just sucks that I couldn’t back that holeshot up with some race wins.

My consistent results are helping me keep this championship alive but if I want to keep it, I need to step it up”.

Team Owner, Dale Hocking: “I’d be pretty unreasonable to not be happy with the weekend. We went in leading the MX2 class and holding 3rd in MX1, and we leave with Wilson increasing his points lead and Kade gaining 1 point on 2nd. The only frustration comes from knowing that we have the potential to do even better, and I know that both racers feel that same frustration”.

With the final 2 rounds to be held in QLD, starting with Toowoomba on August 13, the DPH Motorsport crew have 2 weeks to regroup, practice and come out firing!
