Raceline Pirelli KTM are preparing to make the short trip north to Port Macquarie from the team’s base in Newcastle, for Round 8 of the MX Nationals being held this Sunday July 30.

After an up and down outing at Shepparton two weeks ago, the KTM 250 SX-F team have regrouped, and reset, and Jayden Rykers, Jay Wilson and Morgan Fogarty are determined to post positive results this weekend.

For the team’s Pirelli MXD representative Fogarty, Port Macquarie marks the final stop on the category’s championship calendar, and the Victorian has shared that he’s planning on concluding his debut senior racing season on a high.

“This weekend I’m heading in to the round with no expectations, I just want to have some fun and finish on a high,” Fogarty shared

“I’m feeling good about round eight and feel my riding is good, I just need that little bit of luck I haven’t had the last few rounds.

“I know where I belong, I have no set goals, I’m just going to go have some fun this weekend. New track, new me, I’m excited.”

Rykers, who raced to another consistent top five finish at Round 7, says he’s spent the last two weeks training hard, and that he’ll be heading to Port Macquarie hoping to achieve his second MX2 podium of the year.

“As the season has progressed I have felt a lot better, we started the championship slow but definitely starting to find form now,” Rykers shared

“This weekend it’s a new track for some, but I made the most of my time in Sydney in the early stages of the year and rode Port Macquarie – it’s a very tight track and one lined but I enjoyed the layout a lot.

“I believe I can achieve podiums every rounds with top five starts, so I’m looking forward to putting them together this weekend.”

Wilson, who experienced a difficult round at Shepparton has spent the last fortnight testing with the team, and is looking forward to racing on a fresh new setting this Sunday at Port Macquarie.

“After Shepparton we had a look at a few different things that we could do to improve things, and over the last two weeks we’ve done a lot of testing to find a new setting that we can work with,” Wilson shared.

“The team has worked tirelessly in between rounds to make these changes so we’re really excited to see how they go on Sunday.

“Port Macquarie is a new track so it will be nice to go somewhere that we haven’t been before. We have had a productive little break in racing so I’m looking forward to lining up this weekend.”
