MX1 predictions

First:
Dean Ferris – You can’t go past Ferris here for multiple reasons. Ferris hasn’t been beaten yet this season and he’s coming off an impressive mid-season break, the guy is on fire. He also comes into this weekend’s event as the defending round champion after edging out Matt Moss for the MX1 win in 2016.

Second:
Kirk Gibbs – Expect Gibbs to come out firing in the second half of the year, he’s definitely had enough of coming second to the CDR Yamaha rider. The 2015 series champion will be looking for an improved performance that’s for sure, but it’s hard to put him ahead of Ferris at this point in time.

Third:
Kade Mosig – Mosig was just off the podium in fourth last year at Nowra and he’s certainly an improved rider in 2017, let’s go out on a limb here and say Mosig will be the next guy behind these two riders on Sunday.

Watch for: Brett Metcalfe, Kyle Peters, Luke Clout, Luke Styke, Nathan Crawford

MX2 predictions

First:
Mitch Evans – We’re going to go with Evans here, but it will definitely be a tight one with so many impressive riders in this category. Evans needs to finish ahead of Wilson Todd in particular to regain control of the title and he’ll be looking to do just that and more in Nowra.

Second:
Wilson Todd – Todd will be right there battling for the win, and although he was only fifth in 2016, he’s on a new level this year and he’ll definitely be setting a quick pace all day.

Third:
Egan Mastin – This guy could go out and win this weekend, there’s no doubt about that. Mastin is quite unpredictable and it’s hard to say where he’ll end up each weekend, but if everything comes together he’s a podium guy with ease.

Watch for: Jackson Richardson, Dylan Wills, Kyle Webster, Hamish Harwood, Jay Wilson
