Husqvarna’s Bailey Malkiewicz came out on top in Horsham as the Yamaha 250cc Junior category returned to the Motul MX Nationals series in Victoria.

Moto one saw KTM’s Regan Duffy shoot to the early lead on the muddy Horsham circuit followed by Rhys Budd and John Bova as Malkiewicz worked his way through the field.

As the chequered flag flew it was Duffy who claimed the moto victory ahead of a charging Malkiewicz who stole second position from Budd moments before the finish line relegating the Honda rider back to third.

Moto two saw Malkiewicz claim the moto two victory followed by KTM’s Mason Semmens as Bova claimed the third spot. Duffy crossed the finish line first, but was later docked three positions due to jumping under a yellow flag.

Malkiewicz now leads the Yamaha 250cc Junior championship by seven points over Duffy with Budd holding down third position followed by Semmens and Jack Kukas rounding out the top five.
