Strong season-opener for DPH Motorsport

DPH Motorsport press release:

DPH Motorsport has begun their 2017 MX Nationals campaign in the strongest of ways, with Wilson Todd taking the overall win in the MX1 class on his YZ250F while Kade Mosig took his YZ450F to a strong 2nd overall in MX1 on a challenging Wonthaggi race track.

“I’m extremely happy with how the entire team performed this weekend” an excited Dale Hocking said, “not only did the riders perform when the pressure was on, but they both rode smart to ensure they put themselves in the best possible positions all day. We’ll be carrying the red plate into round 2 with Wilson in MX2 and Kade in P2 for MX1, I can’t ask for much more than that”.

Kade Mosig showed the speed and determination that he’s been displaying pre-season finishing 2nd in both MX1 races after qualifying in 6th, with several industry insiders stating the 27 year is looking extremely comfortable on the bike, not unlike 2015 where he finished 2nd in the championship.

“I’m happy with today’s result, I feel that I prepared well and it’s a good start to a long season. I’ve raced this track a lot over the years and while it was tough, becoming rough in the 2nd moto, it provided us with a few new lines and really made it a lot of fun out there. I’m glad I was able to provide a good result for the team and our supporters after all the work they’ve put in to get me here” Mosig said.

For the team’s MX2 recruit, Wilson Todd, it was almost a perfect day, qualifying first to give him pick of the start gates and then riding to 1-2 for 1st place overall for the weekend. “I’m pumped to start the year like this! I felt in control and although I didn’t win both races, I did what I needed to do” a mature Wilson said.

“I feel at home on the bike with DPH, and having Ben (mechanic) has really helped me focus on my riding, so I’m glad that I could repay everyone that believes in me this weekend by heading into round 2 with the red plate. For me, I really want that red plate at the end of the last round, that’s where it really matters and that’s what I’m focussed on”.

The team’s attention now moves on to Round 2 in Appin, NSW on Sunday April 23.
