Cooper Webb will miss this weekend’s Toronto Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship event as he continues to recover from a shoulder injury sustained in Minneapolis.

Although confirmed as a minor injury, it’s apparent that the Monster Energy/Yamalube/Chaparral/Yamaha Financial Services/Yamaha 450SX rookie will require additional time on the sidelines.

“I was really hoping that I could race in Toronto, but my shoulder is still really sore, and I need to give it a little more time before I can return,” said Webb. “I’m doing everything I can to recover – listening to my trainer and rehabbing – and I hope to return to the track soon.”

This weekend’s Toronto event will mark the second-consecutive round that the former two-time West Coast 250SX champion will not contest the premier class.

After capturing a single career-best podium finish in Oakland, Webb now drops down the championship standings to 11th position with eight rounds remaining on the 2017 schedule.
