The MAD Peter Stevens KTM team will make its debut at the season opening round of the 2017 Motul MX Nationals, sporting a three-rider roster under the guidance of team manager and NRGTV commentator, Joe Stevens.

Expanding on the already established junior program, and running in collaboration with the MAD Peter Stevens KTM coaching program, the all-new MX Nationals squad will see James Alen, Karl Claridge and Josh Brewster fill MX1, MX2 and MXD seats, respectively.

“I’m thrilled to announce our 2017 race team program, for me this has been a few years in the making,” said Stevens. “I have always supported riders competing in the MXN series through the MAD brand and obviously I work very closely with the series commentating on NRGTV, so to be able to take the next step by fielding a full team for 2017 is a huge progression for both myself and all of our team partners.”

Stevens looks to use the support of the MAD Peter Stevens KTM outfit as a springboard for his current crop of junior riders, Dominic Walker and Cooper Sheidow, to get their feet in the senior ranks at select events on the schedule.

“The addition of the MXN senior team will play a key role in our rider development program,” he explained. “We can now offer those riders on our junior squad the opportunity to travel with the team to race the junior support classes at MXN events, and furthermore offer junior riders a full team ride in MXD for their first season as a senior, complete with a team transporter, mechanic and tech support, coaching and a mentor to show them the ropes.”

The MAD Peter Stevens KTM team will make their first Motul MX Nationals appearance on 2 April in Wonthaggi, Victoria.
