Autotrader/Suzuki/JGRMX’s Weston Peick underwent surgery on the wrist he broke during practice at the Phoenix round of Monster Energy AMA Supercross this week, the team has confirmed.

Coming off a season-best fifth at Anaheim 2 the weekend prior, the in-form Peick was one several riders forced out of Phoenix last Saturday, also sustaining a lacerated kidney in the incident.

While it’s not certain when Peick will be fit for a return to racing, JGRMX will continue to field current replacement rider Jake Weimer in the coming rounds, alongside Phil Nicoletti in the Western Regional 250SX division.

The team has also confirmed that Justin Barcia, who was injured in the pre-season ahead of Anaheim 1’s season-opener, is expecting to be back behind the gates on debut with his RM-Z450 ‘in the next couple of weeks’.
