RCH Yoshimura Suzuki Factory Racing’s Justin Bogle is in doubt for this weekend’s fourth round of the 2017 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship in Phoenix, Arizona.

Following a holeshot in the first 450SX heat race of the night, the former eastern regional 250SX champion misjudged a rhythm section hitting his chest on the handlebars in the process of going down.

“It was a tough night,” said Bogle. “We ripped the hole shot in our heat but came up short on a jump a couple corners later. I was hoping I’d be ok for the main so we went out in the semi to see where I was physically but there was just no way.”

Suffering ongoing breathing issues, it was discovered that Bogle indeed bruised his lungs in the incident and a set recovery time is yet to be mapped out.

“I went to the hospital to get checked out and fortunately, there wasn’t anything major,” he explained. “Bruised lungs and some other minor stuff but I’ll be fine. We’re not exactly sure on recovery time yet so we’ll have to wait and see how this week goes before making a decision about Phoenix.”

Bogle currently sits 15th overall in points after missing the Anaheim 2 450SX main event due to his heat race injuries.
