Australia’s Caleb Grothues will contest the 10-round EMX250 series, part of the MXGP World Championship, for both the 2017 and 2018 seasons with the DIGA-Procross team.

The former 65cc world championship winner admits the opportunity to contest the EMX250 series is a dream come true and will be aboard a Husqvarna this season.

“To be able to have an opportunity come up like this is a dream come true,” Grothues told Gatedrop.com. “I’ve always wanted to race in Europe and now the opportunity to race for a great team is so awesome!”

Grothues credits much of his success to the support of his parents and looks forward to their continued support as he takes his career to the world stage with the German-based team.

“I really couldn’t be here without the help from everyone throughout my junior career and especially my mum and dad,” he added. “They’ve been there to support me the whole way and they are continuing to do that throughout the next few years.”

The Western Australian rider will line up against current Motul MX Nationals MX2 champion Jed Beaton in the EMX250 class and join fellow Australian MX2 contenders Caleb Ward and Hunter Lawrence in Europe.
