Yamalube Yamaha Official Rally Team’s Rodney Faggotter is eager for the 2017 Dakar Rally that will take place in Paraguay, Bolivia and Argentina at the beginning of next month.

The Australian has labelled the Dakar Rally as an amazing challenge, with next year’s edition set to be his third attempt at what is regarded as one of the most difficult and challenging off-road events in the world.

“I’ve worked really hard during the past few months and I can’t wait to take on this amazing challenge,” Faggotter explained. “The goal is simple – I just want to do my best to assist my teammates while also giving my all for a good final result.

“This will be my third participation at the Dakar and I’m glad to be surrounded by such a professional team. The atmosphere within is great, we have an amazing bike and I believe we’re in the best position to make amends for all the hard work and sacrifices we’ve all been making for the past few months.”

Foggotter will be joined in the rally by fellow Australian and defending Dakar champion Toby Price, who will also be making his third appearance at the event.

The Dakar Rally will take place over 12 days from 2-14 January, and will see over 100 motorcycle competitors – amongst cars, trophy trucks and quads – endure the most challenging conditions throughout South America.
