Wilson Coolair Motul Suzuki’s Todd Waters will return to racing this weekend at Sydney’s AUS-X Open which will run in conjunction with the final rounds of the Australian Supercross Championship.

Waters opted out of last weekend’s round in Melbourne due to injuries sustained in Adelaide, however the additional recovery time as allowed him to make his debut at the prestigious event inside Qudos Bank Arena this Saturday and Sunday night.

“I’m really excited for this weekend, it’s my first AUS-X Open and there’s some big name riders who have come over for the event, so with indoor racing, a tight track, and a sold out crowd the atmosphere should be awesome,” Waters commented.

“I’m still a little bit sore and busted up but I figure the track is a lot smaller to what we’ve been racing, so it should be a little bit easier on the body.”

The popular Queenslander stated he is excited for his first indoor experience this weekend, sharing his childhood memories of watching indoor supercross races when he was younger.

“I can still remember watching supercross back in the day when all of the racing was pretty much indoors, so I’m excited to have my first indoor experience this weekend. The goal will be to get good starts, make our passes quick and keep it on two wheels – I can’t wait.”

Waters has only completed one full night of supercross throughout the series which was at Jimboomba’s season opener where he placed just shy of the podium in fourth, his failure to record results at the following rounds has positioned him 15th in the championship standings.
