KTM Racing Team’s Kyle Peters will enter round four of the 2016 Australian Supercross Championship with added confidence after scoring his first SX1 podium finish in Adelaide.

Following a promising showing in his heat race, the American rider continued to improve into the night with a strong third place ride in the 20-lap main event behind fellow countryman, Justin Brayton, and defending champion, Dan Reardon.

“The night started off pretty good, with a holeshot in the heat, but I made a few mistakes and dropped back a little,” said Peters. “I made a few changes to the bike and kind of manned up a little in the main and made it happen, I came out second off the start, Reardon got around me, and then about halfway through I started catching him again and ended up third.”

Landing on the podium off the back of a fourth place finish in Toowoomba, Peters looks to continue progressing and enjoying his time in Australia as the series hits the mid-point.

“It was a good night, for sure,” he added. “I got fourth at the previous round and third at this one so I’m happy with the progression and want to just keep getting better and better. Adelaide is a really awesome town, I had a lot of fun just going out to dinner and seeing the sights, so I’m excited to end the trip with a podium.”

Peters currently sits seventh overall in the SX1 series standings with three rounds remaining on the 2016 schedule.
