Faith takes second in round three of the Australian Supercross Championship

Penrite Honda Racing press release:

Penrite Honda rider Gavin Faith claims his second podium out of three rounds with a 2nd place finish in Adelaide.

Round 3 of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship was hard fought between Melross and Faith. Faith took second and moves up two spots in the championship to 4th. Gavin knows he has his work cut out for him and will work vigorously in an effort to get back to the top step of the podium before the championship ends.

“I rode as hard as I could, the track was tricky in some areas and I lacked the confidence to go any harder. The team and I will test this week and work on several things together. I know when I am 100% comfortable I can get back on top. There is still 75 points up for grabs, so the championship is far from over, said Faith”.

Josh Cachia rode strong in his heat race to take 4th, however as the track deteriorated the Victorian found it harder to attack the obstacles and settled for 9th in the final. He is well aware of what he needs to work on and will push hard this coming week to improve on his weaknesses –

“I am not strong enough to do 15 laps yet, the track required a great deal of strength through the whoops and I was getting tired. I rode within my limits and made sure I finished. The team and I have a plan for this coming weekend and I will work towards it. We continue to maintain the goals we set at the start of the championship, said Cachia”

Assistant Team Manager Daniel Kersnovske was content with the weekends results, however acknowledges the team needs to step up in the next three rounds –

“We will work Gavin on bike setup, we were a little off on the weekend. We made a massive step forward in some areas and took a step back in others. We have an extensive week planned and will get him more comfortable on the bike. Josh continues to do what we ask of him and in time will gain more confidence and strength, said Kersnovske”

The team will compete in round 4 of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship this coming weekend in Avalon on the 5th. For more information go to www.australiansuperx.com.au
