AME Management has confirmed Tom Pages will contest the Monster Energy Best Trick contest at the 2016 Sydney AUS-X Open on 12-13 November.

Pages, who placed second in last year’s event (Sunday), will return to Australia as he endeavours to go one better inside Qudos Bank Arena and take his share of the $120,000 prize purse.

The Frenchman explained that his time in Australia for the 2015 AUS-X Open created fond memories for himself, although he understands this year’s contest will be challenging as he goes up against a world-class field.

“I have really good memories from last years AUS-X Open, and I really can’t wait to come back,” Pages declared. “I love visiting Australia at that time of the year, so it’s awesome to be able to go down there, and compete in such an awesome event.”

“This year is going to be really tough – competition wise – as I know that Clinton [Moore] is working on some pretty crazy tricks, along with the other big name guys too, so I’ll go there and try do my best and we’ll see what happens.”

Pages will be joined by Australian favourite Clinton Moore, who revealed a world-first trick is in the works for the event earlier this month. Further rider announcements are scheduled to take place as the event draws closer.

A host of international riders, including Ryan Villopoto, Chad Reed and Cooper Webb, have been confirmed to take part in the supercross event that will run alongside the Monster Energy FMX Best Trick contest.
