Geran Stapleton (Honda) – SX2, third:
With a chuck of foam in his pants to protect his delicate coccyx bone he fractured at last year’s Australian Supercross Championship season finale, Geran Stapleton is back in action and turning heads in the SX2 class. Riding a bought Honda CRF250R and with minimal backing, the 24-year-old landed himself a third place finish in Toowoomba amongst a field of factory bikes and talented international and domestic riders.

Jay Marmont (Husqvarna) – SX1, fifth:
Returning to professional competition after announcing his retirement during the 2014 season, Jay Marmont is now once again a top five contender in the premier SX1 category following his impressive Toowoomba performance. Running his own privateer Husqvarna-backed program, the former multi-time champion rode his way to a strong fifth place finish on the tough and technical circuit. Could this be the start of an exciting resurgence from the veteran of the sport? We’ll have to sit back and find out.

Joel Wightman (CRF Honda Racing) – SX2, fifth:
Making his way through to the Toowoomba SX2 main event via a fourth place heat race finish, Wightman kicked off his round two assault on a strong note. Following a hectic main event that saw multiple riders go down and positions changing consistently, the New South Wales native crossed the line in fifth position to mark his best finish of the season to date. With a fifth place finish last Friday night, Wightman now holds down fifth overall in points with four rounds remaining.
