Verdict:
Penrite Honda Racing’s Gavin Faith secured the early lead, however he took a heavy hit prior to completing lap one. The American returned to his feet, although following a stop in the mechanics area, he would be several laps down once he re-entered the circuit. Serco Yamaha’s Jackson Richardson grasped the lead, controlling the entire race to take his first victory of the year. DPH Motosport’s Hayden Mellross came through the field from a poor start to claim second, while privateer Geran Stapleton was a standout performer to finish in third.
