DPH Motorsport has announced Lawson Bopping will sit out the remaining rounds of the 2016 Motul MX Nationals, making way for Jacob Wright on the Yamaha YZ450F.

Bopping has largely struggled with his health during the opening three rounds of the season, but plans to return for the Australian Supercross Championship.

“It’s a bummer, but I can’t do much about it,” said Bopping. “I’d like to thank all my sponsors and I’ll be back when I’m healthy again.”

Former CDR Yamaha team rider Wright was initially signed by SD3 Husqvarna for 2016, but split in the pre-season and has ridden a privateer KTM in the opening rounds. He will move to DPH across the final seven events.

“I’d like to thank Dale [Hocking] and the whole DPH Motorsports team for the opportunity,” Wright said. “It’s great to be back on a great bike and team and I can’t wait to see what the rest of the season holds.”
