Monster Energy/360fly/Chaparral/Yamaha Factory Racing’s Chad Reed has confirmed he will race this weekend’s Detroit round of the 2016 Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship following a tough night in Toronto.

After qualifying for the 450SX main event from a win in semi one, the Australian racer tangled with riders during the start of the main event, causing Reed to go down hard and exit the race.

Reed walked away from the crash, but until now it was unknown if he had sustained any injuries, the multi-time champion confirming today via his Twitter account that he will be able to race round 11.

“A little beat up,” said Reed. “Be all good and ready to try again in Detroit.”

Reed was credited with a 21st place finish in Toronto and now sits seventh overall in points with seven rounds remaining.
