Husqvarna Enduro Racing’s Glenn Kearney suffered a fractured shoulder blade during the inaugural running of the New Holland Enduro-X powered by Monster Energy at the Clipsal 500 in Adelaide.

The factory Husqvarna team manager and racer admits the injury, occurring over a log double jump obstacle during the final Thursday practice session, was due to a mistake on his behalf.

“On Thursday I fractured my shoulder blade in four places, it was my mistake,” said Kearney. “It was halfway through the last practice session on the Thursday afternoon and I was one of the people doing this log double. I don’t know whether it moved a little bit but I just didn’t get the pop that I had been and I stoved the front into the second log.”

Following examination from the doctors on site at the Clipsal 500 event, the New South Wales rider believes there will be no surgery required and admits his Australian Off-Road Championship (AORC) plans are currently up in the air.

“The sports doctor here at Clipsal was pretty adamant that everything was in place and it’s just a matter of the bone healing,” he added. “I’ll be back as soon as I can and will see what is possible once the AORC starts.”

The 2016 AORC series is set to kick off on 19-20 March at Kilkivan in Queensland.
