GAS Imports has today announced Thor as the naming rights sponsor of the 2016 MX Nationals premier MX1 class.

With the Thor MX1 class showcasing the very best in Australian motocross, GAS Imports owner, Doug Sharp, is excited to be pairing the elite brand with an elite category of racing.

“We are thrilled to have the opportunity to see Thor aligned with the MX1 class, and are very proud to extend our support to the MX Nationals even further in 2016,” said Sharp. “I think most people will agree that with the level of talent in the MX1 class this year, it could be one of the most hard fought championships in a long time, so to be able to take up the naming rights for the class in 2016 is fantastic.”

“Motocross is an integral part of Thor and GAS Imports both locally here in Australia and around the globe. We believe the sport of motocross is one of the most exciting sports in the world and the depth of Australian talent and international talent in the MX Nationals is first class – we are very proud to be showcasing this via our sponsorship of the MX1 class in 2016.”

MX Nationals series promoter, Kevin Williams, looks forward to the extended relationship with GAS Imports and Thor for the 2016 season.

“It is fantastic to have the extended support of GAS Imports in 2016, and to announce the newly named Thor MX1 class,” Williams said. “The team at GAS Imports have long been great supporters of the MX Nationals as a series, so it’s great to welcome Thor as the new naming rights sponsor to our premier class.

“We have a couple of big names who have returned from racing the MXGP, we have an MX1 defending champ, as well as guys stepping up into the MX1 class for very the first time, so it’s going to be one action packed year of racing and we are very excited to have Thor and GAS Imports on board.”

The 2016 MX Nationals series will kick off on 3 April at Horsham in Victoria. For more information on the MX Nationals, head to www.mxnationals.com.au.
