American supercross ace wants to finish the season with another win

Penrite Honda Racing press release:

Penrite Honda Racing’s supercross ace Jimmy Decotis wants to close out the 2015 Australian Supercross season with nothing short of a win at this weekend’s final round of the series at Melbourne’s Knights Stadium.

The fast paced American has dominated the SX2 class, winning four out of the five events contested to date and finishing second at the round he didn’t win.

Decotis, who has been the class act of the SX2 Championship holds a 31 point lead over fellow Honda rider Jackson Richardson and needs only to finish this weekend to lay claim to his first ever Australian title.

The 24-year-old from Peabody, Massachusetts races with a great deal of intensity and said he aims to leave nothing behind as he goes after another win this weekend.

“Every time I race I try my best to win,” Decotis explained. “That’s why I train and prepare so much. If I try to change my program then I feel that’s when mistakes can happen.

“At the end of the day I am a racer, and I want to win! So I am going to go out there and try to win, but I am not going to make any silly decisions and lose sight of the big picture.

“I will just keep doing exactly what I have been doing and go hard for the full 15 laps and hopefully be able to take a Championship plate back home with me,” Decotis added.

Team Owner Yarrive Konsky praised Decotis for his determination and said he is confident he will end the season with another strong finish.

“We don’t need to win, however knowing Jimmy he will go out and give it his all,” Konsky said.

“We have all really enjoyed working with him and we could not have asked for a better rider, person and ambassador for our sponsors.”

The final round of the 2015 Penrite Australian Supercross Championship presented by Ryco Filters will be held at Melbourne’s Knights Stadium on Satuday 5 December.
