Luke Styke (KTM Motocross Racing Team) – 6th overall:
Obviously not progressed since round one and we are getting better and better every weekend, but I just feel like I want to improve a bit faster. But we’re close, we’re real close. The bike’s good and I’m good, we just need to work on a couple of little things, my race-craft, that sort of thing. I’m still making a few little mistakes and I think that’s the key. Even though it was hot, I didn’t feel like I was physically fatigued, just a bit tight still. The track was a bit crumbly and they couldn’t get much water into it during the day, but it wasn’t too bad, it was consistent. But we are close, we are real close to cracking a really good result, it’s taking its time but I’m progressing a little bit and that’s what matters.

Daniel Reardon (CDR Yamaha) – 1st overall:
The track was so tough tonight. The dirt was hard and finding traction was difficult so you had to ride with precision and with a lot of throttle control. The opening lap with Matt was pretty exciting and it was a shame he went down. I was on the outside and he had to ride through the loose marbles on the inside as we came into the turn after the finish and I assume he just lost the front wheel because it was so hard to control the bike when you went off the racing line. The CDR Yamaha team did a great job tonight and the bike was awesome. With Kade and myself up here with a 1-3 result is great for the team and for Yamaha.

Kade Mosig (CDR Yamaha) – 3rd overall:
I was trying so hard to stay in second. I saw Matt edging up so I tried to put in some fast laps there to keep him at bay but the track was so slippery that it was easy to override it and actually go slower. It’s good to get up here on the podium again and I was able to make a few extra points over fourth. Thank you to the Jimboomba crowd for coming out tonight and dealing with the heat this afternoon, it was uncomfortable for everyone so it was awesome they came out to support supercross. Scott Bannan does an amazing job promoting this event and the riders love coming here, so we look forward to seeing everyone here again next year.

Matt Moss (Team Motul Suzuki) – 2nd overall:
We are getting towards the end of the championship and things are certainly starting to change out there. There is tight racing going on and it is going to be a good battle at these last two rounds as it comes down to the wire. We are here to win the championship and know what we have to do to get it done, second place tonight is not ideal but we are still right in this and we showed we have the speed to match anyone on track. We will head home for the week, continue to work hard and come out ready to challenge for win next weekend in Sydney.

Kale Makeham (Team Motul Suzuki) – DNS:
It was good to be back out there amongst it and to get back behind the start gate. I was running well in my heat race until I made a small mistake and re-aggravated my ankle. Unfortunately I had to make the decision to sit out the main event. I’ll rest up for a couple of days and I am confident that I will be good to go next weekend for round five in Sydney.

Gavin Faith (Penrite Honda) – DNF:
I am not sure exactly what happened. I came together with another rider and broke some spokes in my front wheel. The team quickly fixed it and I was able to get back out there but it cost me a quite a few spots.

Lewis Woods (Davey Motorsports KTM) – 1st overall:
It feels awesome to win. It’s been a long time coming in the pro class, but everything fell into place. The track was tough and it was 40 degrees at some points of the day, so, fitness played a big part. I know I needed that start and I’ve been working on them. It was a last-minute decision to jump on and give it a crack after my injury last year, so I went with the KTM and the bike’s really good. The first round the thing was pretty much dead stock and now we’re getting it dialled – it feels real good. Jimmy’s unbeaten streak was running through my head, he was right there, but I was reading my mechanic’s board and I knew I had enough to play it safe a little bit and still get the win.

Luke Arbon (SD3 Husqvarna) – 3rd overall:
I felt a lot more comfortable on the track this time and just felt I pushed a bit harder. Oh man, it was so hot here. I was sitting in the van with the air con on, and staying out of the sun, but as soon as you would go out on the track, instantly your throat would dry up and it got quite hard to concentrate, but we got through it. The last round here I struggled a lot, pumping up and I just didn’t have much speed, whereas this time I felt really solid, it was still real hot tonight so in the last five laps or so when I had a big gap ahead of me and behind me I just turned it down a little played it conservative. The track was very slippery with a combination of hard-pack and loose. You definitely had to be careful in turns not to slide the front or the back around on you. It made block passing difficult, it was hard to suddenly stop and you ended up very committed. In the final I was first coming into the turn, but got in a bit too hot and just couldn’t really turn it. I went a bit wide and a few guys came up the inside and just pushed me out. I made a few good passes early on and was in third, but got to Wills and was a bit too nice and didn’t get the pass done. Clout crashed out and Richo was back a little bit so I’m sure that has tightened things up for second position.

Jimmy Decotis (Penrite Honda) – 2nd overall:
I made an average start and several mistakes before I caught Lewis, but I couldn’t make a safe pass and I needed to be mindful of the championship. The team let me know that Luke Clout was out, but I didn’t know that Jackson Richardson had crashed as well. Once I settled in I realised that I was in front of my closest championship rivals and I needed to race smart. The track was tricky as it had dried out earlier with temperatures nearing forty degrees. We now take a 26-point lead into Sydney, but by no means is the pressure off.

Geran Stapleton (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 4th overall:
I had a lot of fun at J2! The track layout was awesome and I’ve got to give it up to the track builders and Scotty, it was another great event. I did struggle a little bit with the hard surface but I’m happy to come away with a fourth for the night. We made some good progress this weekend, and I’m not far off the podium now. I’m headed to New Zealand on Tuesday to race again and then it’s back for Sydney, so I’m looking forward to another big week on the bike.

Jackson Richardson (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 10th overall:
It was a tough night for me, and we didn’t end up getting the result we were looking for. The bike was handling perfectly and I felt that my speed was quite good in my heat race, but unfortunately in the main I got caught up in some carnage and I just didn’t have the time to make up positions. We’re in to back to back weekends now, so I’m just focusing on next weekend and getting the job done in Sydney.

Luke Wilson (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 7th overall:
I had a great weekend. I managed to get a fourth in my heat and then seventh in the main. I had a bad start, but I definitely had the pace to run in the top five. It means a lot to see my results improving. I have been working hard for years now to get some good results and things are starting to come together. It’s going to be a big few weeks with back to back rounds, but I’m excited and just can’t wait to get to Sydney.

Jake Williams (Wilson MX Penrite Honda) – 17th overall:
Aside from my riding, it was another great weekend for Wilson MX [laughs]. I actually have a broken finger so I knew it was always going to be a tough round and that it would be hard to hold on, but the new track layout was definitely a challenge. I got through the night which was a plus, and as always it’s a fun event at Jimboomba. The crowd was awesome, and our bikes handled the conditions well, so now I’m just looking forward to getting to Sydney.

Jesse Madden (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) – 9th overall:
The day started off a little tricky and I couldn’t find the flow of the track the way I would of liked to. It took me a while to get it happening. Finally I started to feel comfortable for the main event and finished ninth. I would of liked to have gotten a better start, but in saying that, my Pirelli tyres and my Suzuki worked great for the whole race and I can’t thank my team Raceline Suzuki enough for all their help and support they give me. I can’t wait to get back on the bike this week and just train my ass off for next weekend in Sydney.
