Monea takes top five finish a Adelaide

Kawasaki Motors Australia press release:

Adam Monea of the NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team reigned supreme with his all-powerful KX450F to take the holeshot after the gate dropped for the main Supercross event at the Adelaide showground over the weekend.

Adam Monea took advantage of an early race lead which allowed him to charge forward throughout the opening laps and into the remainder of the race to close in 5th position.

“Had a great weekend overall. The holeshot was a highlight and to finish in 5th for the main event wasn’t ideal but it will have to do. I can bang bars with the boys up front which I proved in the last round and now im just looking ahead for another podium in the next round,” Adam commented.

Team mate, Dylan Long, was sitting with the front runners for the majority of the race until a crash put a halt to his efforts. “I crashed out and knocked myself silly! Went to hospital and I’m a bit tender but I’m all good though,” said Dylan.

Team Manager, Troy Carroll, said, “The riders and team did an outstanding job. It’s a shame that Dylan fell considering he would have finished strong, but we still managed to take a spot up there with Adam. Just waiting for the next round where we can improve on results.”

The next round of the Australian Supercross Championship will be held at the Sunshine Coast, QLD on 17th October.
