NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki's Monea second at Jimboomba

Kawasaki Motors Australia press release:

Adam Monea took his rightful place on the podium after a clean performance aboard his KX450F in the second Australian Supercross Championship round held in Jimboomba, QLD over the weekend.

Last year’s runner-up, Adam Monea, proved his championship winning potential by finishing 2nd in the main event of the second round, under the lights of the Jimboomba X Stadium.

“I am feeling good. Coming off last week’s results, I just needed to get a good race out of the way and now I can really build off it. You know, these boys besides me are quick, but there is no doubt in my mind that I will be banging bars with them in the next round,” commented Adam.

“The track was greasy, the cold night brought the moisture up and it was a tricky one to ride. You just need to be patient and let it come to you,” said the 26 year old Victorian, who proceeded to thank his sponsors and supporters with a special mention of his Pirelli tyres and team mechanic saying, “the Pirelli tyres really came into their own tonight with these track conditions and my mechanic, Teasy, puts in a big effort so I want to reward him with a win!”

In his first year of competing aboard a 450cc machine, Dylan Long, who joined the NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki Racing Team mid-way through this year’s motocross season, showed sheer skill and speed amongst Australia’s most talented Supercross riders to finish the main event in 8th place.

“I think I did well to come back to a top ten position in the main race. The team really have the KX450F dialled in and I’m looking forward to chasing a podium in the next round,” said the 20 year old Victorian.

Team Manager, Troy Carroll, was glad to see the hard work pay off saying, “We had a much better round this weekend. We are really happy with the progress the team has had since the bad luck we had in the first round. We’re glad to redeem our self’s with a runner up position that we deserve and we are looking forward to some race wins and more podiums!”

Adam Monea and Dylan Long will not rest in the two weeks until the next round being held at Adelaide’s Wayville Showgrounds on 31st October, as they continue to train on their all new 2016 KX450F motorcycles.
