Team Motul Suzuki’s Kale Makeham will miss tomorrow’s Jimboomba, Queensland, round of the 2015 Australian Supercross Championship as he recovers from an ankle injury sustained at the opening round.

The Bathurst round of the 2015 championship last weekend left him with a nasty ankle injury that included a small fracture and ligament damage after he miss-timed a rhythm section during practice.

While able to complete the opening round, the Victorian rider has not been able to put any weight-bearing pressure on the ankle all week and has had to make the tough decision to miss this weekends round.

“Unfortunately I won’t be racing this weekend,” Makeham commented. “At this point in time I have not been able to put any weight on my ankle. We have made the decision to sit out this weekends race and hopefully will return for round three in a few weeks time.”

The SX1 class rookie will hope to resume racing alongside factory Suzuki teammate Matt Moss at the Wayville, South Australia, round three on 31 October.
