Raceline Pirelli Suzuki have successful first SX hit out

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki press release:

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki had their first hit out at round one of the 2015 Australian Supercross Series in Bathurst on the weekend, with Jesse Madden and Brock Mcleary both putting up promising performances.

With solid preparation prior to the first round, both Mcleary and Madden headed to round one looking to leave their mark on the SX2 and SXD classes. For Madden, round one provided the first opportunity to see where the youngster fits in to the SX2 class, and despite some bad luck, was pleasantly surprised with his performance.

For Mcleary, round one marked his first race in eight months, and despite his time away from the racing scene, handled his first hit out like a true professional.

Jesse Madden SX2 – 12th Overall

“The results don’t show on paper, but myself and the team are stoked with how I went on the weekend,” he said. “Stepping up into the SX2 class, we really weren’t sure where I would be, but to get a third in my heat and then be running inside the top ten for most of the main was a solid effort. “I have a lot more confidence now, and it’s good to know where I stand in the bigger class. Even with the changing track conditions, and with it being wet, the bike handled awesome – The Raceline guys did an awesome job. “I’ll just be putting in more training this week, and hopefully I can step things up again at Jimboomba this weekend.”

Brock Mcleary SXD – 7th Overall

“I’m feeling not too bad after the weekend, I didn’t hurt myself so that’s a plus,” he said. “I was a little sore, being my first race back in eight months but, my body will just have to get used to it again. “The race was terrible, but I actually felt like I was riding well. I qualified first, and I rode a good heat race, it was just unfortunate that I got taken out in the main.”
“I had to ride the rest of the race with bent bars, and in those conditions, it wasn’t the easiest thing to do.”

Raceline Pirelli Suzuki Manager Chris Woods:

“Look it was a pretty good weekend. The final results don’t really show how well the boys rode, but we are really happy with Jesse’s and Brock’s performances,” he said. “Brock qualified in P1 which was awesome, and Jesse was a bit unlucky in his qualifying session because it was pouring with rain. “Both of the boys walked away with third in their heats and then got a bit unlucky in their finals, but really they both rode fantastic. “I’m really happy with how both of them performed. They both rode to the conditions, and surprised me with how well they handled the round. The results may not look perfect on paper, but it definitely doesn’t reflect how well they rode.”
