Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing’s Josh Strang broke through for his first Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series victory of the year on Sunday at Unadilla.

After starting the year with a string of second places behind Russell, Strang has battled injury in the second half before bouncing back at Unadilla with a dominant start-to-finish win.

“I’ve never won at this track and it was good to get my first win here,” said Strang. “The track is rough and fast, but it can get frustrating with the lapped riders. Of course that’s all part of GNCC Racing and having the high rider turnout is good for our sport.”

Strang won comfortably ahead of Thaddeus Duvall and International Six Days Enduro (ISDE) individual winner Ryan Sipes, while fourth was enough to cement FMF/KTM’s Kailub Russell another title. Daniel Milner was 12th overall.

Making a guest appearance in the Women’s category at Unadilla was Australia’s ISDE champion Tayla Jones, finishing fourth overall as part of the N-Fab AmPro Yamaha team on the weekend.
