After a year’s hiatus the legendary New Zealand Farm Jam will return bigger and better than ever in 2016, with organisers announcing the event will be held on 6 February.

With the last instalment of the iconic two-wheeled action sports event being held in 2014, Farm Jam organisers Dan and Brett Frew are refreshed and excited about the prospect of evolving their unique jam contest as one of the world’s premier multi-discipline events.

“Taking a year off in 2015 to focus on our families, ride more and catch our breaths has made us all the more excited and passionate about the Farm Jam and its future,” said Brett. “We’ve already been busy putting plans in motion to step things up and make 2016 something really special.”

Held at the bottom of New Zealand’s spectacular South Island, the Farm Jam combines natural terrain freestyle motocross, BMX dirt and mountain-bike dirt-jumping. The contest was held annually until 2014 and attracts thousands of passionate spectators and some of the world’s biggest names in two-wheeled action sports to each event.

“2014 saw some incredible riding across all disciplines and the quality of riders we attracted was amazing,” added Dan. “We had riders come from Australia, the UK, the States and Brazil among many others, which proved just how popular our event is becoming on a global scale. After a year’s break we’re bracing ourselves for an overwhelming response from athletes around the world eager to compete in February.”

As was the case in 2014, the 2016 NZ Farm Jam will have limited entry spots available across FMX, BMX and MTB. For more information and updates, ‘Like’ Southern Freeriders and Farm Jam on Facebook and follow @farm_jam on Instagram.
