A dominating performance at the Yellow Mountain Cross Country

Smith and Haddrill go 1-2 for Smith Brothers, Cairns Coconut Resort Honda.

Smith Brothers Racing press release:

Smith Brothers, Cairns Coconut Resort Honda Racing team competed in the two day event, the Yellow Mountain Cross Country. The monster event runs over a distance of 220 kms each day, racing between the townships of Condobolin and Tottenham in western New South Wales.

The hometown event saw the return of Smith Brothers Racing’s Jake Haddrill after a recent neck injury which he suffered while competing in the 40th running of the Finke Desert Race.
After what some would rate as an unlucky 2015 season so far, Jacob Smith and Jake Haddrill turned it all around by placing 1st and 2nd at Yellow Mountain.

Jake Smith – “The entire team and I had a really good weekend at Yellow Mountain, it was satisfying to reward the team and Honda with a good result, capping off our contracted races for 2015. Our focus this weekend was to do everything right from our lead up preparation, bike setup and our overall organising which we achieve and it showed in our overall result. It’s now onto planning for 2016, from a teams perspective we’re excited to hopefully lock away a number of new races for 2016 and develop a new Smith Brothers race bike for a new season.”

Jake Haddrill – “I’m happy to have had a solid finish at Yellow Mountain along side team mate Jacob Smith. I’m ecstatic to be back on the Honda Motorcycle, I felt like I was a little kid in a candy shop all weekend. I can’t thank everyone enough who has helped me get back on the motorcycle including the team and personal sponsors.”

Smith Brothers, Cairns Coconut Resort Honda Racing team would like to thank Todd Smith for all his efforts throughout the weekend and entire 2015 season, it’s been a real shame Todd has not been able to compete but we’re looking forward to the future and beyond. We would also like to thank head mechanic Jacob Young who has put in countless hours into the teams Honda Motorcycles. Our truck driver Chris Holman has also played a massive role in delivering our transporter to each and every round.
