Bike: 2015 Sherco 450 SEF-R Factory

Up-spec Sherco 450 SEF-R model due for July arrival.

The arrival of the highly-anticipated Sherco 450 SEF-R later this month has been taken to an exciting new level with the first shipment confirmed as limited edition, Factory models.

The 450 SEF-R Factory edition features the new generation Sherco 449.4cc DOHC, four-valve, four-stroke engine fed by Synerject digital EFI.

Sherco Australia brand manager Stephen Tuff said the new 450 has been a long time coming and is willing to bet it won’t disappoint.

“We’re taking our new 450 to every Sherco ride day we have planned around the country, so if you’re curious, then make some time to get along to the ride day and give it a go – you can find the details on our website,” Tuff said.

In keeping with Sherco’s existing, compact and user friendly features found on all models is the tool-less air-filter access and quality componentry such as Brembo brakes and Trail Tech computer.

Combine this with dual-position billet triple clamps and reversible, off-set handlebar mounts you have a bike that’s capable of a wide range of adjustment which is sure to please even the fussiest of rider setup requirements.

“The Factory edition isn’t just another 450,” Tuff added. “The turning ability and agility of the bike will make it the envy of its competitors.”

A strong, yet smooth powerplant is transferred to the ground via a six-speed transmission that works seamlessly with a hydraulic clutch. The handlebar-mounted dual-curve ignition map switch offers two engine power output options that can be changed on-the-fly to offer all-out strong powerful performance or a tamer, more user-friendly delivery.

The powerful and versatile engine is housed in a semi-perimeter chromium molybdenum steel frame mated to 48mm open-chamber USD WP fork and WP linkage shock.

The combination of Sherco’s frame and the proven 48mm WP open-chamber fork and WP shock with linkage provides a suspension and handling package that complies beautifully over a vast range of terrain.

The first shipments of the Sherco 450 are factory models boasting full factory features like the full Akarapovic exhaust system with revised mapping to suit, DG2 double-grip seat, translucent fuel tank, solid rear brake disc, ASX bash plate and sleek factory graphics.

With a dry weight of 109kg and capable 8.5-litre fuel capacity the Sherco 450SEF-R Factory edition is a bike worth serious consideration if you dare to ride different.

The Sherco 450 SEF-R Factory edition is $14,290 inc. GST and is available nationwide from Sherco Dealerships from 27 July, 2015.
