Current MX Nationals red plate holder and reigning Manjimup 15,000 champion Kirk Gibbs will defend his title when the 2015 running takes place at Cosy Creek on 7 June.

Gibbs will line up alongside KTM Motocross Racing Team teammate Luke Styke in the Western Australian event, while retired four-time national champion Jay Marmont is also a surprise inclusion on the entry list.

“It’s always exciting going to Manjimup,” Gibbs said. “I really like the track there and it’s a no pressure race, so we always have a lot of fun. It’s such a well known event and I’m such a big fan of the track. Also with KTM being based in Perth, it works out well to come over, race and get to see everyone.

“It’s always a great line-up of riders that race Manjimup, so I didn’t expect anything different this year. It will be tough and any of those riders could win. And the feature, with the one-lap races, will be very challenging, but for me it’s to have fun. If I win, that’s a bonus, but if not, it’s not a massive deal.”

It was previously confirmed that the international contingent will this year be made up of popular American Josh Hill and Kiwi talent Brad Groombridge.
