Kale Makeham is ready to fly the flag for Team Motul Suzuki when the third round of the 2015 MX Nationals heads to Broadford, Victoria this Sunday the 26th of April.

Fresh off his maiden Superpole appearance and overall top ten result in the premier MX1 class at Appin, the Suzuki RM-Z 450 pilot is confident more positive results are headed his way after a solid two weeks of preparation in the lead up to this weekends event.

“It has been a bit of an interesting week,” Makeham commented. “I headed up to Newcastle to do some testing with the team, but obviously with what is going on with the weather up there that was not possible so I headed back home to put the work in.

“I also had a chance to do a VO2 Max test which is something that I have always wanted to do. Todd Jarret gave me the opportunity and it was good to see where I was at and get a little science behind what I have been doing.”

“I am looking forward to getting to Broadford on Sunday and going racing,” the 21 year old continued. “These two week breaks between rounds seem like they last forever!

“I have been working hard on the things I need to work on in order to improve my results this weekend. There were plenty of positives we took away from Appin, including being part of Superpole for the first time.

“I have set some more personal goals for myself to focus on for this weekend and am keen to get the round underway.”

Makeham will be the sole Representative of the Suzuki outfit at Broadford with team-mate Matt Moss sidelined from racing action this Sunday after his big first turn crash in the opening moto at round two.

Despite not being able to line up behind the gate himself, the two time reigning MX1 champion will be track side supporting his team along with his Rookie MX1 team-mate.

“I have been told that I need to have a month off the bike,” Moss explained. “It has been just over a week now and there is still a couple of weeks to go.

“It is disappointing to be out of action this early in the season, but there is plenty of racing left in 2015 and at the moment the most important thing for myself is to get healthy.

“I will be at Broadford on Sunday supporting the team and offering advice to Makeham throughout the day.”

With the chance of some wet weather racing on Sunday, Team Manager Jay Foreman knows that luck can play a part in the final results, but also knows that being prepared for all conditions is key to any success.

“We are hearing that the weather this weekend could be quite bad, but we will have to wait and see how that turns out. With any mud race there can be quite a lot of luck involved.” Foreman commented.

“Makeham has improved at every turn so far this season and we know he has been putting in during the week, working on the area’s he needs too . If he keeps improving the results will be there.

“For Matt he will miss this weekends race after his crash at the last round. We have a three week break after Broadford before round four at Murray Bridge, that will give us time to see how Matt is progressing.” Foreman concluded.
