Motul-supported MX Nationals athletes have recorded positive results when round one of the series kicked off at Horsham last weekend.

With a bunch of talented riders flying the Motul flag at the season opener, it was no surprise to see some outstanding results on the board across the three main classes.

Motul backed Adam Monea (NPS Monster Energy Kawasaki) recorded the top results of the day, coming away with a seventh and sixth place to hand him sixth overall for the round in the MX1 class.

Defending MX1 champion Matt Moss (Team Motul Suzuki) had a tough day at round one. After crashing hard in the first race, Moss managed to battle through moto two and salvage vital championship points.

Moss’s team mate and Motul’s Kale Makeham took the positives from his rookie MX1 appearance at Horsham – claiming two eleventh places to land him just outside the top ten at the conclusion of round one.

In the Motul MX2 class, Motul supported Rhys Carter (Raceline Pirelli Suzuki) proved he has the speed it takes to run with the top guys. After qualifying in an outstanding fifth place, Carter took ninth and tenth place in his two motos to finish 11th overall for the round.

“My weekend was up and down, but getting fifth in qualifying was obviously a great way to start the season,” he said.

“I think with a bit more testing under my belt, that by round two I’ll more than ready to go.

“The support we have for myself and the team this year is awesome. Having a company like Motul and Link International behind me makes my job a lot easier out on the track.

“Hopefully by the end of round two, I will have put some even better results on the board for them, and we can try and chase down this championship.”

In an entry packed MXD class, Lachlan Holyord flew the flag for Motul, taking 12th in his moto to eventually claim 12th overall for the day in an encouraging start to his 2015 motocross campaign.

Motul supported riders will now shift their focus to round two of the MX Nationals series, which takes place on Sunday April 12, in Appin New South Wales.
