Penrite Oil has extended its support of Honda’s Australian motocross and supercross teams, announcing a title sponsorship agreement with MX2 team Wilson MX.

With the factory Penrite Honda Racing team of Ford Dale and Cody Cooper focusing on MX1 in 2015, Wilson MX will field Luke Wilson and Geran Stapleton under the Penrite Honda Jetpilot Racing banner.

“We want to have a presence in both premier classes,” explained Penrite Oil general manager Toby Dymond.

“The vigorous 10-round national motocross series requires a split focus and we just want to ensure that we respect and support the technical needs of the MX1 and MX2 championship teams we support.”

Wilson MX heads into its second year with Honda and is excited by its new relationship with Penrite, said team principal Neale Wilson.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an Australian company,” Wilson commented. “Penrite is very active and supportive of motorcycle sport. Honda has also increased their support and we are extremely appreciative of the backing they are providing.”

The team will expand to three riders for supercross and hopes to improve on last year’s third overall with the return of American Kyle Peters.

“We will be better prepared going into motocross and supercross this year,” Wilson added. “We have spent time in America over the past six weeks and have competitive bikes and products that will help make the difference this season.”

Penrite will also announce some exciting new products in the coming month that will align with motorcycle racing, confirmed Dymond.

“We have been developing new lubricants and special fuels that will be available to the public soon,” Dymond said. “The development process has gone well and technically I know we will be competitive with pricing and performance. This is why we race, so we can develop better products for our customers.”
