SD3 Husqvarna has joined forces with MX R&D for the 2015 season, owned and operated by multiple-time national champion Ryan Marmont.

Marmont will work closely with national MX2 contender Luke Arbon this year on board the FC 250, alongside renowned tuner Andrew Pringle also as part of the MX R&D association.

“The team at SD3 Husqvarna are thrilled to announce that MX R&D have come on board for the 2015 season to support our attack on the MX Nationals and supercross series,” said a statement from team owner Stephen McKinnon.

“Ryan brings 12 years racing experience at the highest level across Australia and NZ, plus also internationally, and will provide outstanding support to Luke Arbon having been in his shoes. Andrew brings 17 years experience working on multiple factory racing teams across Australia, New Zealand and the UK.

“SD3 Husqvarna is extremely lucky to welcome both Ryan and Andrew to the team and look forward to taking our 2015 season to another level with the professionalism and experience MXR&D bring to the team.”

Arbon will enter the 2015 MX Nationals as an MX2 title favourite following a breakthrough season last year, winning the Murray Bridge, Raymond Terrace and Gladstone rounds on his way to third in the championship.

The announcement confirms the exit of Marmont from MX Nationals competition following a decorated career in the Lites category, turning his attention to operating MX R&D after taking over the Wollongong-based business in 2013.

Marmont won the 2006 Australian Pro Lites (MX2) Motocross Championship, as well as the 2006 and 2007 Australian Pro Lites (SX2) Supercross Championships. He also won the 2004 Pro Lites Supercross Nationals.

It’s yet to be decided whether Marmont will return for the supercross season in 2015 after finishing eighth overall on board a factory-supported Husqvarna last year.
