Pirelli has increased its support of the Penrite Australian Supercross Championship ahead of this weekend’s season opening double-header at Bathurst Showground.

The Official Tyre Sponsor of the Australian Supercross Championship, Pirelli will also take naming rights sponsorship of the Arenacross program.

Pirelli is heavily involved in supercross and motocross globally. The Pirelli Scorpion MX celebrated title wins in the 2014 MXGP and MX2 championships to bring their total to 62 world championships.

In Australia, Pirelli riders Matt Moss, Luke Clout and Egan Mastin won the MX Nationals MX1, MX2 and MXD classes respectively in 2014.

Don Nicholas, Pirelli Moto product manager said Link International was thrilled to continue its partnership with the Australian Supercross Championship.

“We are thrilled to continue our partnership as Official Tyre Sponsor of the 2014 Australian Supercross Championship,” Nicholas said. “Racing is in Pirelli’s DNA. At Pirelli we have a saying; We race what we sell, we sell what we race.

“So that when Matt Moss or Jay Marmont race on Pirelli in this year’s supercross, you can be sure that they use the same Scorpion MX Mid Soft 32, MX Mid Hard 554 and Scorpion SX tyres available to all riders around Australia to ride and race at their local track.”

Australian Supercross Championship promoter Yarrive Konsky praised Link Internationals support of domestic motorcycle racing.

“It is encouraging top see the support that Link International put into domestic racing in Australia,” Konsky said. “Without their support our championships would certainly struggle.”

Pirelli motorcycle tyres are imported into Australia by Link International. For more information see or call your nearest motorcycle dealer.
