Josh Strang has claimed his first Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) round win of the 2014 season at the penultimate Powerline Park round in Ohio on Sunday.

Strang rode his Rocky Mountain ATV/MC N-Fab AM Pro Yamaha to the win over newly-crowned two-time champion Kailub Russell, while Jordan Ashburn completed the podium from Charlie Mullins in his return from injury.

The result sees Strang second in the series with one round remaining, despite his non-finish last time out when a refuel during his pit stop went astray.

Australia has two top 10 finishers at round 12, with Australian off-road ace Daniel Milner making his debut with Am Pro Yamaha to finish a solid eighth overall.

Tayla Jones also made her first showing at GNCC, leading at stages during the race before getting stuck when caught up with a lapped rider, and then running out of fuel just two kilometres out from the finish. She eventually crossed the line a very credible fourth.

Stay tuned for full report to come.
