Bike: 2015 Sherco SEF-R and SE-R range

French manufacturer adds 2015 Sherco SEF-R 450 to model line up.

With the introduction of the new SEF-R 450, French manufacturer Sherco now offers a complete range of enduro models. The two four-stroke models have received major improvements.

All of the two-stroke and four-stroke models have received some innovations such as the Synerject injection being adapted to the SEF-R 250 and the valve system improved on the two-stroke models.

The new 450 four-stroke model has been eagerly awaited by fans of the brand and this new model largely reflects the architecture of the existing well-known models, namely a perimeter steel frame.

It has received an 18mm longer wheelbase and the caster has been modified similar to the 250 and 300 models in order to gain stability. Ergonomics are essentially the same, as is the swingarm, the fuel tank, the Brembo brakes and the trim in an obvious pursuit of standardization. The WP suspension settings are modified to suit the engine and are also valid on the new SEF-R 450.

The big news is in the engine, which has a new four-valve dual overhead cam head. The engine block is very compact and innovative, with its unique distribution system which improves maintenance and greatly reduces wear.

Like the other four-stroke Shercos, it is equipped with a specially developed Synerject injection by the mark. The exhaust system meets all of the anti-pollution standards through the use of its catalytic system.

The overall aesthetic appearance is in keeping with the total product line and is both fluid and tense. As for the standard equipment of the 450 R, it like the other models, include standard handguards, a skid plate and the handlebars do not have the traditional crossbrace.

Work on the SEF-R 250 engine top-end and the injection has given it more power at all speeds. The 300 has a longer wheelbase and improved power at the low-end. The cycle parts have received only minor changes, but why change something that has delighted everyone in the past? The two-stroke models are no exception.
