Nagl in, Bobryshev out for Team HRC at Teutschenthal

Team HRC continues to battle with injuries ahead of Teutschenthal GP.

Team HRC’s Max Nagl will make a return to the FIM Motocross World Championship at this weekend’s Teutschenthal event in Germany following an extended hiatus due to injury.

The MXGP contender will make a welcome return at his home round in front of friends and family, but admits his injured hand is not at 100 percent heading into the round.

“Firstly I’m really happy and excited anyway to be returning to racing again, but the home GP makes it even more so,” said Nagl. “I know the track very well and the fans will help me push that little but extra. The crowds are really close to the track in Teutschenthal so you can really hear them and feel them which makes it very special.

“I had said that I didn’t want to come back until I‘m 100 percent fit, which now unfortunately isn’t the situation. The hand is taking longer than expected to recover and they found something more just one week ago which is what is giving me a little pain.

“Last week it was hard as I couldn’t train much, but then it started feeling better so it’s possible to ride. I’m testing on hard-pack tomorrow so I’ll see how it feels then, but I think it will be ok so I’m just really looking forward to coming back in Teutschenthal.”

As one rider returns for Team HRC, another is unfortunately ruled out with Evgeny Bobryshev suffering fractures to both his left tibia and fibula while contesting the Italian GP.
