SEVEN MX announces Australian amateur program

SEVEN MX has launched an new amateur program in Australia, led by longtime pro Cody Mackie and featuring some of the sport’s brightest rising talent.

Mackie has been named brand ambassador for the SEVEN MX brand – founded by James Stewart in 2013 – after a long relationship with Australian distributor Lusty Industries and Distributors. He will mentor amateur athletes Cooper Pozniak (15) and Bailey Malkiewicz (13).

“I couldn’t be happier to fly the SEVEN MX flag here in Australia for my good friend and company founder James Stewart,” Mackie said. “I’ve always enjoyed working with amateur athletes, to work with riders like Cooper and Bailey is just an added bonus; they are both extremely fast and great kids.”

Pozniak and Malkiewicz will contest state and national level competition with support from Mackie in areas such as preparation, race day, training, social media, speaking and all areas of what it takes to become a world class athlete.

“I’ve spent recent years supporting professional based athletes, it’s a breath of fresh air to give back to the root’s of the sport and support two incredibly talented athletes,” Lusty Industries director Johnny McLean said.

Lusty has also welcomed to the SEVEN MX roster Brenden Harrison (MX2) and Jarrod Kelly (MXD) for the 2014 MX Nationals season.
