Williams Event Management and the MX Nationals have announced that Motul has come on board once again to support the Australian Motocross Championship series as the official oil for 2014.

Motul, which was founded in 1853 and is one of the most prestigious oil providers in the world, has continued to show its support to motorcycle racing in Australia and has taken up the opportunity to be named the MX National’s official oil.

Link International’s Mark Kelly said it was an easy decision to renew the Motul/MX Nationals sponsorship for the 2014 series.

“We have been supporting the series now for about 17 years and in that time we’ve seen many positive steps forward from the WEM team to grow the Championship to where it is today,” he said.

“The MX Nationals provides a fantastic outlet to reach our core audience in the industry. Everyone who loves dirt bikes knows of the MX Nationals series, so for Motul to be the official oil of the championship is a smart choice for us.

“The relationship we have built with Kevin Williams from WEM is really important to Link International and Motul. This year we have been named the official oil of the series, which is a great opportunity for the brand.”

Kelly said that one of the main reasons Motul has chosen to support the MX Nationals for such a long time is about the brand giving back to the industry.

“The MX Nationals has always proven to be a very professional well run series. We have a good relationship with Kevin Williams and obviously wanted to support the series as best we can,” he added.

“It is really important for us to give back to the industry that supports us. By supporting the industry at the highest level we are ensuring the continuation of the motocross industry in Australia.

Kevin Williams said the importance of having a globally recognised brand like Motul as the official oil of the series could not be undervalued.

“Motul has always been a fantastic partner, and this year will mark there 17th year with us” he said. “It’s great have such a high quality global brand like Motul support the series – they support many teams and privateers.

“Motul has grown its support to privateer riders by taking on the naming rights of both the North and South MX1 Privateer Championships with riders who finish on the podium receiving Motul products at each round.

“First place, will receive, 300V 4L and an MC Care Off Road Pack, while second third place will receive an MC Care Off Road Pack.

Kelly added that Link International has a number of different plans on how the oil will offer its support to the 2014 series.

“Motul will specifically support the MX2 Class in 2014, with taking on the naming rights of ‘Motul MX2’ for the fifth year running,” he said. “Motul will also support the Northern and Southern MX1 Privateer Cups 2014. This includes supplying Motul prize packs for privateer riders who finish top 3 at each round of the Privateer Cup.

“As a brand we obviously believe in supporting the privateers of the country to also ensure the sport continues to remain healthy in the long term.

“We are also looking into Live streaming each round via our website. The times are moving, and we see a great opportunity for Motul to gain some coverage through the means of online broadcasting so that is an option for us this year too.
