Chad Reed will chase his first back-to-back Monster Energy Supercross wins in near five years when the 2014 season continues at San Diego’s Qualcomm Stadium this Saturday.

At 31, Reed is the winningest rider ever in San Diego with six wins, including five in six years from 2003 to 2008. It’s his previous success at the venue that has him rated a high chance for victory come the main event.

Coming off a stunning victory at Anaheim’s final stop last weekend, Reed will be aiming for his first consecutive supercross wins since Indianapolis and Daytona in 2009 before the series heads back East for his favoured events of the season.

“I feel good about going East Coast,” Reed told Racer X Online. “I’m ready to get out of California, but one more stop, which is one of my favorite stops – [San Diego’s] been good to me over the years.

“It’s been a long, long time in my career, maybe ’09, since I got back-to-back wins. It will be nice to go there and try to get a win and then head East Coast.”

Reed’s most recent victory in San Diego came in 2011, just seven rounds following the formation of his TwoTwo Motorsports team.

With four podiums to his credit in the first five rounds, including two wins at Angel Stadium, Reed sits two points adrift of triple defending champion Ryan Villopoto in the standings.
